My wedding dress journey with Eternal Bridal

One of the most important details in a wedding is the bride’s dress, and I set out to find the perfect one for my special day. I already knew I wanted something that would reflect the beautiful mountain venue, whimsical and fairytale like – but also still very me! They say that when you know, you know. So in order to find ‘the one’, I went to consult with the bridal wear professionals at Eternal Bridal. Eternal Bridal handpicks beautiful designs from globally acclaimed designers, walking you through the journey from store appointments to your final fitting.

There is a bespoke store in Sydney and Melbourne, and dresses from designer labels such as Galia Lahav Haute Couture, Lazaro, Tara Keely, Hayley Paige, Blush by Hayley Paige and Enzoani. Eternal Bridal are also the exclusive stockists of these designers.

The Store

Eternal Bridal accepts limited walk in appointments, but if you want a detailed consultation you will have to make a booking prior to visiting. The store is every girl’s dream, with every dress you could ever imagine on the racks. Whether or not you’re looking for mermaid tails, gowns with long trains, or simple evening dresses, there’s so much to choose from! After you’re done with trying on as many dresses as your heart can take, you can even browse their accessories section with intricate head pieces and sparkly earrings. Eternal Bridal has everything you need to complete your look for the big day so you won’t have to go anywhere else.

The Consultation

All consultations are personalised with a bridal specialist and they focus on you (and only you) for the entirety of your appointment. I had my first consultation with Lyndell who is the creative director of Eternal Bridal. We first started by walking through what my dream dress was (even before we went to browse!) and I had told Lyndell I was looking for a long sleeved ball gown that reminded me of an enchanted forest. We then walked through what she thought best suited what I was looking for, and she showed me some of the collections from different designers and what their brand reflected.

It was amazing to see so many styles and options to choose from at Eternal Bridal. I felt like I was in bridal heaven! Lyndell guided me to some of the styles I would like, and also let me browse in my own time to pick some I wanted to try on. Wedding dresses look different from when they’re on the rack to when they’re on you, so it’s best to always try as many styles as you can because you never know what could be the one. What I loved about my consultation at Eternal Bridal was that I wasn’t rushed to be fitted and my opinions were listened to. I got honest thoughts on the dresses I tried and we mix and matched until we narrowed it down to the top 5 styles. If you don’t know what you’re looking for, don’t worry! You can always come back and have consultations until you find what’s perfect for you.

The try-on

This is the part every bride-to-be dreams about. I must have went through the entire store during my first consultation just going crazy with different colours, shapes and lengths.

I first tried on what I thought to be my ‘perfect style’, which was a long sleeve ball gown. Although the design was intricate and beautiful, I thought it was a bit too much and hoped for something more simple. That’s when Lyndell brought out other styles and encouraged me to try some out of my comfort zone. I probably spent almost 2 hours in the store! Magical would be the word to describe it. Although I did set out looking for a long sleeve dress, unfortunately the store didn’t stock that many. However, Eternal Bridal is partnered with Bespoke Bridal Tailors, an alterations specialist who can customise your dress to be exactly how you want it.

The entire process from start to finish took us about 4 consultations, and the team were more than happy to fit me in and make sure I was sure with my decision! I can’t wait to share more details of my dress with you guys and how we came to turn my vision into reality.

Xoxo,

Eli
