My skin has not been good to me this winter. I’m not sure if the weather has been drier and colder, but my skin is just not a fan. Not only has it been dehydrated, but it’s sensitive to products with certain essential oils and fragrances. I’ve been desperately trying to find some new products to fit into my night time routine. I put a stronger emphasis on my night routine as that’s the time where your skin gets a chance to breathe and restore itself. Recently Avène has sent me some products, which I thought would be perfect to trial and incorporate into my PM regime. In particular, their new Hydrance Hydrating Sleeping Mask has become one of my go-to products, especially on days where my skin needs extra TLC to help with dry spots and redness.

Avène Thermal Spring Water
The holy grail ingredient to all Avène products is their Thermal Spring Water. It is so widely popular that it’s one of their best selling products as a stand alone mist. The properties in Avène Thermal Spring Water soothes and softens sensitive skin, and is gentle enough to use on your face and your body. I like to spritz it on my face when I need that bit of extra hydration (especially after a long day), or when I feel like I need to calm my sensitive skin. The product is also recommended for sensitive, allergic or irritated skin which is perfect for me because I have frequent dermatitis spouts here and there. A great tip that I read online as well is to put the bottle in the fridge so it gives you a fresh, cooling sensation as you apply it. I also think this would be a useful product to take on the plane for those long journeys!
Hydrance Intense Rehydrating Serum
I usually use this serum after cleansing for the night which provides intense hydration to my skin. Again, this serum has the Avène Thermal Spring Water infused in the product, so your face will definitely get the hydration it desperately needs! I love that the texture of the serum is light, as some serums can feel a bit thick and heavy on the skin. Avène’s serum aims to restore the skin’s natural hydration barrier and fine lines caused by dehydration are completely smoothed. Your skin is left feeling soft, smooth and glowing to perfection.

Hydrance Hydrating Sleeping Mask
Now for the newest kid on the block, it’s Avène’s Hydrance Hydrating Sleeping Mask. I love sleeping masks because as you leave it on overnight, the mask seals in your serums, creams and oils. The Hydrance Hydrating Sleeping Mask moisturises, soothes and adds much needed antioxidants into your skin. As you’re sleeping, the sleeping mask allows for your skin to be hydrated so you’ll have a glowing complexion by the time you wake up.
I like to apply Avène’s Hydrance Sleeping Mask on my face, neck and around my eyes. It feels so refreshing on my face with it’s aqua-gel texture, and is cooling to the skin. After I wake up in the morning, I apply my cleanser and remove the mask off. I try to use the sleeping mask at least three times a week for maximum results. Avène’s range is simple, fresh and a great addition to your skincare routine if you have sensitive skin like me. Do check it out next time you’re at your local pharmacy or online on their website here.
